check out my beautiful new cabinet!!!

here's a beautiful sunset from the other night - the clouds looked like they were glowing!

have a gander at my new cabinet - i just love it!!!

and here it is with the table set up again.

when you live in such a tiny place, you really have to try and squeeze out as much storage space as possible! and now with this new cabinet, the food saver, dehydrator and juicer are no longer on the bedroom dresser - SCORE!!!

here' some delicious baked potatoes that we had last night - oh yummeh!

one half is broccoli with homemade cheese sauce and the other is fried mushrooms with a cream sauce. we shared them as that was one big baked potatoe!

this morning, with baked potatoe, broccoli and mushroom left over, i fried up the potatoe, mushroom and broccoli and tossed 2 eggs on it. a good breakfast for my cabinet-installing man!

and surprise of all surprises - a little baby tomatoe! my tomatoe plants are full of tomatoes but none of them have even started colouring yet! this little guy came of nowhere!

the rule of thumb for saving seeds from your plants is to save the seeds of the bestest/fastest growing plant. i should have saved this little guy for seeds since he was so far ahead of all of the other tomatoes. we couldn't help ourselves tho, we brought him in, cut him half, salt and peppered him, and gulped him down. he was delicious!

    1. Mr. Smythe - it sounds like you had a good breakfast then. did you have frozen broccoli? i like frozen broccoli when fresh isn't available.

  4. You are a great cook. I get hungry looking at the food you prepare.

Your kitchen looks top flight. You really do have your own little Manor. I think you two have about everything in the world a person could want.

    1. Harry - i really enjoy cooking and ever since retiring, can now research a lot of recipes, figure out what i like and change the recipes, and then practice. i think the practice is very important. i always loved cooking but when you work 10-12 hr days you just don't have the time. but now i have plenty of time and really do enjoy it. there's always extra for you, buddy!

we finally have all of the kitchen stuff in the kitchen. it has taken a while for us to be able to do some "prettying" jobs at the Manor. we really do have everything that we could ever want. well except for gutting the kitchen and re-doing it, building an extension for a proper-sized bedroom and adding a sunroom. it will take years but that is our dream anyway. thanks for stopping by, my friend!

  5. Jam did an excellent job. It looks like the perfect cabinet for those small handman jobs like rebuilding the lawnmower engine! Such a shame to waste it on a food dehydrator in the kitchen!

  9. That's a sexy cabinet (can cabinets be sexy?). Actually, this may sound strange but the cabinet looks very "retro" to me. Not sure if it's the color, the design, the handles, or a combination of all but it reminds me of some cool piece of furniture from the 50's or something. Tell J nice job! Wish I had that talent. :-)
