lost in the land of spring!

we are definitely having a normal and proper spring this year - it has been beautiful and soul-reviving! last year, we had such an abnormal winter, spring and summer - but not this year - this year has been a normal winter...and so far...a normal spring!!! today our temp was 13C (about 60F)...very awesome temps for this time of year!

and we are so far ahead of the game this year! last year was all about everything that could go wrong during the winter - DID! and then during spring we were scrambling to get the raised beds built, filled with dirt and seaweed, same for all of the tires, scrambling to get seeds started, etc. - and this year we are able to take our time and enjoy! we are feeling decadent to say the least!

we have a bazillion seeds started on the plastic-wrapped porch, there are a bazillion more that need to be started and will be over the next few weeks, we are sun-burnt and loving it - jambaloney was naked today shoveling compost and dirt into the potatoe tires (for your imaginative envisionings - picture a well-built, very muscled, gorgeous, bearded guy with a pirate bandana on his head, black rubber boots up to the knees and absolutely nothing else!!!! bahahahhaah!!! i sure did love watch him shoveling 24 tires like that!) - i was not naked as it is still a little cool for me - i wore some underwear and a little tank top! i raked the compost and dirt into the tires as he shoveled them. i also watered the 24 tires with seaweed tea that has been soaking in the hot sun for days.

we did some laundry and hung it out to dry, made our breakfast, dinner and prepped for supper - and now we are calling it a day! i think a nap is in our future.

i hope you all had a wonderful day like we had - ooooooh! thank you spring for going back to normal! thank you sky for being so blue! thank you sun for shining so brightly! thank you Lord for bringing us here!

  1. Laundry? Don't you have to wear clothes to have laundry?

Note to self: Call in advance before dropping by for a visit.

    1. Ed - we sometimes find that we have to wear clothing during the winter. so we did our winter laundry today...which is the equivalent of one full load. and yes - calling in advance makes for less embarrassment for both us...and you! but you are welcome any time, buddy!

Warlock - nice to see you again buddy! bahahahah!

  7. Kymber - Glad you had such a good weather day ! Blue sky, sunshine, and watching a good looking naked man working sure beats grey skies, thick fog, slushy rain all day, and an overweight, non English speaking crazy landscaper with an attitude in my face all day ! My neigbour sent him ... GRRRR !

I need a drink - Cheers my friend ! xoxo

  8. Wish I could do naked gardening here...but between my neighbors and the awful sunburn it would cause, not worth the chance! Can't wait until I move up north!

    1. Lamb - it's the reason why we moved here - no neighbours, tons of privacy and lots of naked gardening! i hope you get to move north soon!

  10. In Virginia it is hit or miss on Spring. Usually we go straight from winter to summer and humidity, Luckily I like the heat. My HOA does not appreciate any kind of nakedness tho.

  12. Did I mention storing seeds in military ammo cans to you a while back? I was thinking that I tried, but that Blogger was messing up that night. They're solid and waterproof.

    1. Mr. Smythe - i don't think that you mentioned it to me personally but i do believe i may have read about it on your blog??? regardless, i have read about storing seeds in ammo cans on other sites and appreciate you reminding me. right now all of our cans are storing ammo, but we do have a dealer in the city and will check and see if he has extras! thank you, Sir!

  13. I really need to send you my nudist kids, they would love to live at the Manor. I just remembered a story....when our first was little he was ALWAYS naked, and really, I didn't care. Well, we had this swing set with a tower thing on it and he would go up there naked (because he was ALWAYS naked), the old neighbor lady could then see him in all of his little boy glory and it drove her nuts in her prim and proper ways (she was OCD about things being clean and done right), but anyway, one day she called me up to ask me to put clothes on him, in his own backyard....lol....I always got a kick out of watching him up there naked after that!!
