whoa! what a storm! 225mm of rain in 2 days, 110km wind gusts and 39,000 people on the island without power!
here is strachan's brook a few days ago...
and after all the rain:
we lost our power on monday night and got it back this afternoon at 4:30. we also lost the phone yesterday afternoon but got it, and our internet back this afternoon. there are still people without power/phone but the good folks at nova scotia power are working around the clock.
and it pays to be prepared kids!!!
Glad you survived. It always pays to be prepared. So many people where I live are not and after the hurricane, the damage, and loss of grid power, they still don't get it! I can't imagine what kind of animals the neighbors would turn into if they couldn't buy food for a few weeks.
ReplyDeleteGlad your safe. I was praying for everyone I know on the East Coast, from my son, to Harry, Senior, My Brother in law & family, you guys. Stephen, (even thou he has not posted for awhile.)
ReplyDeleteGood your OK we are well prepared for power cuts :-)
ReplyDeletePhew, good to hear you are safe. Are the cats OK? Were they scared?
ReplyDeleteDo you have much off grid power? It's something I need to work on here we have very little. But then we have a wood stove and candles so it a could be romantic (minus the three kids though).
ReplyDeleteWow Kymber. That is the kind of rain that we have here from time to time. Glad to here you are okay. How did your garden do? Is this a regular occurrence in Autumn (I am not remembering that it is)?
ReplyDeleteMuch love! - TB
That is a LOT of rain! Glad you two are okay - being prepared is so necessary these dark days. xoxo
ReplyDeletewow we could use some of that rain around here, the wettest month we get only gives us 52mm of rain in the entire month! glad you're both ok
ReplyDeleteOkay starting to get worried, is everything alright?
