celebrating Framboise Manor 2015 potatoe planting day!

oh what a glorious day! it started with some yogurt for breakfast.

moby-moe really enjoyed his - bahahahah!!! that's jambaloney's yogurt container - he turned his back for 5 minutes - and you know the saying - ya snooze, ya lose! and he lost! moby had a good breakfast tho!

this pic is especially for my dear friend Pioneer Preppy - he loves potatoes almost as much as he loves tires!

ALL 200 POTATOES PLANTED - WOOHOO!

this next pic is also for my friend Pioneer Preppy who mentioned in a comment that he didn't realize that our land was high above our brook (not our river, our river is in the backyard). our level land, our front yard and house are about 100ft above the brook.

hope the picture helps PP.

here's today's dinner - lettuce wraps filled with - you guessed it - lobster and tabouleh salad.

i planted more pepper and tomatoe seeds while jam continued taking apart the pea bed. then we did some other odd jobs before downing tools for a bit of reading in the sun. jam buzzed the hottub to make sure it was ready for all of this evening's dips.

supper this evening was lebanese-style herbed rice with a cucumber, pomegranate seed, grapefruit chunks and honey salad - deelish!

another fantastic spring day and another one to look forward to tomorrow! (if any of you are wondering about these regular-almost-daily posts, it's because jambaloney does his computer contract work for LobstersRUs in the evenings and mornings. and i like to keep him company! he works all day on our little homestead, and then all evening on his contract. he's a very hard worker!)

  3. I haven't planted a thing this year. It seems like either the deer or the squirrels eat what I plant anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter. lol

    1. Gorges - if you spend all that time planting and get nothing out of it because of deer and squirrels - heck - take that planting time and relax and sit on the porch. much love to you and yours, Sir! xox

  4. Sweet Kymber,

Moby - Moe.....is a smart cat, I bet the yogurt tasted pretty good and may even settle his little belly. Yep you snooze you loose Jam!!!!
Alright, the potato tires are up and running......I mean in business :-)........I love me some taters!!!! I'm so happy the snow is gone and you both can get outside and get your garden going.

That Jacuzzi looks so inviting, it looks as if it's made of clay......I've not seen one like this. Enjoy relaxing in that baby......were using mother natures Jacuzzi.......lol....... Our property is flooded with all that rain. We have mother natures natural Jacuzzi right out our back or front doors. In the last four days we've had a total of approximately 16 1/2 inches or so of rain here.

Sending hugs and love to you both,
    Sandy

    1. Sweet Sandy - our little Frankie Blue Eyes knows when we have taken cheese out of the fridge...and then cries and begs for some cheese. the other 2 cats don't like cheese. Moby loves the yogurt and butter. Noodie-Nu loves olive oil and honey. they are all nuts - i swear! and you and me are from the same mother - i could eat potatoes for every meal - i love them!

the hottub is called a softtub - we got our first one back in the city and loved it! here is a link to their site:

the tub is portable and very light. it's also very durable and we have never had a single problem with the one we had back in the city, nor the one that we have now. i highly recommend them!

sorry you are so flooded but bathing in mud pools is fun too - bahahahah! sending much love always, Brat A.! xoxoxo

  6. Oh, for 200 planted potatoes! I've had a terrible time getting a good crop of potatoes. This year I missed the boat because of all the rain. Now everyone is sold out of seed potatoes and the dry weather is setting in. The worst part is we have no hottub to console myself in!

  8. Hey Kymber and Jam. The hot tub looks inviting! it is a very unusual design? We dont have ones like that over here. they are normally a big plastic square.

Pictures up over on mine of the porch so far. it needs lots of work. So I will shop the house to find nice things to put in there. It needs softening

  10. Things seem to be going well up there in your wilderness retreat. If I lived near you I would come and bum potatoes off you when you have huge piles of them.

Remember the little Red Hen story? Do they have that in Canada?

"Who will help me eat the potatoes," said the Little Red Kymber

"I will ," said the Lazy Harry.

  11. Can't get over all those tyres! Do you change the soil in them every year? Potatoes soon pick up disease here if grown if the same place year on year.
Thanls for your kind messages lsst week. X
