well kids - it seems that spring is finally here:
yep - it's our first week of spring! sigh. we're tougher than the canadians pictured above - we were actually nekkid in the hottub!
see the size of that snowdrift? sigh.
here's our robe stand buried in a drift. sigh.
after some dips in the hottub to loosen up poor jam's stiff muscles, i fed him a filling tuna, apple, wasabi and mayonnaise macaroni salad.
here is the man shoveling truckdura out of a big drift (that awesome jacket he is wearing is a pioneer storm master that our dear friend P gave to him. he takes that jacket whenever he goes in the truck to town or work, and he uses it around the yard all winter long!)
anyway then he had to shovel his way to the snowplow AGAIN.
i made him some sweet and sour chicken legs for supper.
here is the sunset from last night. sorry for the weird blue dot.
today he will be out finishing the snowplowing of the driveway. no more snow is called for in the next 2 weeks (thank goodness!) but we do have a rain warning for sunday. sigh.
this is the most snow we have ever had since moving here. i will be happy to see the ground again even though it will probably be thoroughly soaked mud for a month.
but spring is definitely in the air! i hope that you are all enjoying this first week of spring!!!!
Bwahahaha - love the first pic. For a moment I thought it was you and jambaloney. Oh, for some cool weather - and some snow I can touch. Fat chance of that, but I can always hope.
ReplyDeleteDani - i would mail you some but all you would get in the mail would be a big soggy package - bahahahah! xox
DeleteI can tell Jamby has been working more your portions are getting bigger :)
ReplyDeleteI would love all of that although I am not fond of apples in macaroni salads.
Ya you guys are getting pelted pretty good with snow this year but think of all that good ground moisture for the Summer.
PP - i didn't used to like apples in macaroni salad until i started adding wasabi - makes all the difference and it adds such a nice kick to an otherwise sorta' bland salad. oh ya - we'll have great ground moisture and our well will probably overflow. melting winter snow makes the best well water! xox
DeleteHang in there, Kymber, the mud will be there soon! Then at least you can get your fingernails dirty getting ready for your garden. (-: Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteFern
oh Fern - it is going to be extra muddy this spring! all i can think of is 3 fat cats who have been cooped up this winter going in and out of the house leaving muddy cat prints everywhere for 2 months. i swear, i am not mopping the floor until mud season is over - bahahahah! Happy Spring to you and Frank too! xoxo
DeleteSweet Kymber,
ReplyDeleteIt may officially be Spring but it doesn't totally feel like it.......Happy Spring Girlie!!!!! I will say, at least we don't have snow. I feel for you both every time I read your blog, and see snow in your pictures. That is a lot of snow, the last time I was in a lot of snow like was years ago in Marquette, Michigan.
Stay warm, love the bright heavy jacket Jam is wearing. You need bright colors when shoveling snow.....this way you're seen.
Enjoy the nice warm Jacuzzi!!!!
Sending hugs and love to you both.
Your Friend,
Sandy
hey Brat Angel - yep Michigan would look a lot like this!!! people who have lived here all of their lives say they haven't seen this much snow in over 30 years...and we have gotten the least of what the rest of nova scotia has been belted with alllllll winter long. jam brings his jacket with him everywhere he goes in case he gets stranded or needs help - it has night-bright strips on it so vehicles will see him from a mile away. it was really nice of our friend to give him that jacket.
Deletewe're loving the hottub - especially jam - it soothes his poor aching back. he's back out there shoveling before we get hit with a bunch of rain. much love to you and yours, always! xoxoxo
You poor lot! I was in a T shirt until gone six outside planting onions tonight! Been a lovely spring day, hopefully there's no snow here this year.
ReplyDeleteoh Kev - i cannot wait for t-shirt and then no clothes weather! it's coming - i just know it!!! glad that you are enjoying your spring and getting out in the garden with the kids!
DeleteHappy spring! It snowed here today! I want to get in my garden so badly!! Sigh all in good time.
ReplyDeleteltw - you and me both! i haven't even started any seeds yet because i won't be able to rotate seeds from the house to the greenhouse until this snow goes away!!! good luck with your gardening this year! xoxo
DeleteNo snow here, and of course now we are in a drought. No snow this winter of course were in a drought. but its big news. next week it will be due to global warming.
ReplyDeleteoh crap Rob - our buddy in cali is going to be suffering this year due to the drought out there. i feel sorry for the farmers in your area - it will not be good for them!
DeleteNice views. I love your meals.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're mud is nothing too terrible, although looking at all that moisture I just shudder.
We are supposed to get heavy rain tonight and tomorrow - hopefully we will migrate to Spring soon as well.
TB - thanks for that nice compliment. our mud season this year is probably going to be pretty awful. add 3 cats who have their own cat doors coming in and out all day and night and this house is just going to be covered in mud! one thing tho - i will take mud over snow anyday!!! xoxo
DeleteSeeing this post and the photos has reminded me of how much I hate the snow, as beautiful as it looks it really is a pain in the arse. Here's to Spring!
ReplyDeletehey Joey - i don't mind snow and we don't usually get this much of it - this year has been completely abnormal!!! but i have to admit that i really can't wait for it to go away! Happy Spring buddy! xox
