happy valentine's day....and some other stuff!

happy valentine's day to all of you! hopefully you are celebrating the reason for the holiday and NOT the commercialism!

here is a beautiful rainbow that jambaloney got a picture of the other day! the rainbow goes from one side of the Manor clear over to the other side - i find it very beautiful and calming to know of the renewed promise that a rainbow brings (Genesis 9:13 KJV).

we haven't really had much snow this winter but we got a good dumping of it today - about 15-20cms with drifts here and there. my poor man jambaloney will be out tomorrow plowing the driveway with the atv. which kind of sucks for him as he is dealing with an abscess tooth of all things!!!

he has been doing some contract IT work from home for a local company these past few weeks and last wednesday he had scheduled to go in and do a demo. just as luck or murphy would have it, he woke up wednesday morning with a golf ball in his cheek and an abscess tooth!!!  but he went into town and delivered his demo and then went into our town of St. Peter's to see if a dentist could see him. of course, like usual, that little town is always friendly and will find a way to help you out of a bind. the dentist saw him and put him on 2 different antibiotics and jambaloney will go back in this coming wednesday and have the tooth pulled.

so after all of that - he put in a full day! and then had to drive home with his tooth throbbing and the golf ball in his cheek growing! but you can't stop a man who loves you! he made sure to get me some roses!

he also got me some blood pudding and brussel sprouts! nothing says love like blood pudding and brussel sprouts - bahahahahah! (but he knows how much i love both things!)

a happy valentine's day to all of you - and may you spend the day with someone you love, be it your partner, your friend, your mother, your children - whoever!

    1. hey buddy - your wife is one lucky gal! the swelling in jam's cheek is already going down - whew - but he has been feeling wonky for the past day and such. he's not used to antibiotics and the dentist gave him a normal one and a much stronger one. i wish he had have told me how bad his tooth was hurting sooner - i could have at least relieved some of the pressure with natural remedies! much love! xox

  3. I'm sure sorry J is having that tooth problem. Those are really tough. It's good you two still managed a nice Valentine's Day though. The snow will be cozy, you can stay inside and just enjoy being warm and dry.

    1. Harry, my friend - jam always says that his teeth are his achiles heel. he told the dentist he would rather have a tractor fall on his head than have to deal with tooth pain! his teeth are in good shape but he still has a baby tooth that never grew out and that is the one that cracked and exposed the root.

the snow outside today is just beautiful and it is warm enough to have many hottub dips - yaaaaaay! but he still has to snowblow the driveway and since he is under the influence of some strong antibiotics - i am only letting him do it in shifts. plus he's got a great valentine's proper roast already cooking. he's sleeping now...was up most of the night thinking about work and snowblowing...but i somehow managed to get him back in bed at 8:30 this morn and come hell or high water - he is not getting out of bed until noon. i won't let him! much love to you and yours always Harry! xox

    1. lw - you are like jam - he hates tooth pain and would rather be mauled by a grizzly bear! no, he wasn't given any pain meds but i did make a fresh batch of clove oil and it seems to be working! the swelling has gone down amazingly well and he will be fine once the tooth is pulled. i hope that you and sweet husband have a wonderful v-day too! lots of love! xoxox

    1. TB - jam is a tough hombre but when it comes to tooth pain - not so much! and he's the first to admit it! he can handle all kinds of pain but tooth pain really takes it out of him. however, he is doing much better and the antibiotics are really working well.

YOU haven't had blood pudding? maybe you know it as black pudding or blood sausage??? blood pudding is a very british thing...and all proper cape bretoners have a slice or two for breakfast. teehee - here is a link to the wikipedia entry -

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_pudding

as noted in the article, cape bretoners tend to fry their blood puddings - they are delicious!

i wouldn't say that they would wouldn't go with brussel sprouts - just never put blood pudding and brussel sprouts together. jam bought both of those things for me because he knows how much i love both of them!

enjoy your valentine's day with the ravishing Mrs. TB and your gorgeous children! much love buddy! xoxoxo

    2. black pudding goes really well with shellfish like scallops. yum.

good black pudding is delicious, some cheap stuff over here is really gritty and too much fat.

  7. rainbows are caused by white light being refracted according to wavelength . It is unnecessary to "invent" a creation story to enjoy a rainbow! Sorry about the tooth!. Hope you two have a wonderful Valentine's Day. I got Mrs. Rat yellow roses and chocolate I will help her eat!

    1. Mr. Rat - nice to see you here! and hey - you know that you and i share differing opinions about things, so i know that you understand that i choose to look at a rainbow and remember, with absolute joy, the covenant made by Our Lord. i know that you don't believe in that, but i also know that you respect our belief in that!

i hope that you and Mrs. Rat had a lovely valentine's day...and i hope that you didn't eat the majority of her chocolates - something that jam does quite often - bahahahahah!

    1. hey sweet Gurlie - your comment appeared twice to make it twice as special! ya, i love rainbows too...they are just so magical and i don't care what science has to say about them! science, for all it's glory, still can't solve cancer or alzheimer's so science is not all it's cracked up to be!

bahahahahahah! i love that angel thing, eh? me, you and Sweet Sandy...of course PP is Charlie. we need to get PP to do a Pioneer Preppy's Angels post. we'll all send him a pic and he can photoshop it all together. oh man, that would be awesome!

much love always to you, Senior, the boys and your other family members! always hon! your friend and fellow angel! xoxoxoxoxxo

  10. Please tell Jam to try and get the tooth root treated - rather than have it pulled. I know been there done that! Once the tooth is gone, it's gone. And implants are bloody expensive, and plates are yuk. The tooth on the opposite jaw (upper or lower) grows and grows - because it has no opposite upper or lower tooth to grind it down. Also, loosing a tooth means that the other teeth on that jaw bone wander - sideways.
