obligatory sky pic for my dearest and sweetest Helga....guys, what can i do? she is my sister and i have to take sky pics for her. so just get over it k? but man that is a beautiful sky pic. the clouds here are so healthy - i want to eat them!!!
anyway - back to the yacht! we have a friend who is going out west for work, doesn't need his boat, gave it to us to take care of while he is away. did i say "boat'? i meant "yacht". it's super cammoflauged. you probably can't even see it in the pic below.
oh ya baby - there she is. although i think she is a he. oh well whatever. have another look. is that awesome or what?
i feel sorry for all of the rich folks floating around the mediterranean on their 100footers...how sad for them. check out the inside of our yacht.
it's a pleasure-craft to be sure. Mayberry, stop that drooling! here's a shot of jambaloney taking it out for a test spin.
and here's our Johnson 6 horse-power 2-stroke from the 1970's....that baby works like a charm!
and now we are heading out on the river - yachting is so much fun! we were doing 10knots/10mph here. we were flying!
oh man - it was so much fun! wish all of you were here with us!
going around a bend in the river. 6 different estuaries empty into our river. we will need to explore them all!
here's a gorgeous beaver house. they don't need to build any dams around here.
hey - that's the North Framboise Road bridge...we are currently going under it - woohoo!
look at the beautiful lilly-pads! hang on Helga, we're going really fast at this point!
oh wow. the life of a yachter is not an easy one. but i have big shoulders.
now we are heading back home after exploring only one estuary and not very far up it - we have much exploring to do for the rest of August!
there's those puffy clouds that i wish i could eat!
heading back home.
oh heck - that's me. understanding exactly why dogs hang their heads out of cars and trucks - man it feels awesome!
getting closer to home - isn't it beautiful....and not a single cottage, home or person for miles and miles - we love it here!
yep - that's home. that's our piece of the riverfront. we both gave up high-paying jobs for this. i think we made a wise decision.
here is the yacht in the ... ummm....yacht place? on land? it's nice eh? jambaloney dug this out in order to keep the yacht here.
oh and here is the yacht-launch and mooring...man, there are so many uses for tire-inserts and my man never passes up the opportunity to use them. hey, he built this in about 20 minutes...he's good on the fly like that!
speaking of my man....i took about 300 hundred pics of him driving the yacht - he doesn't like any of them and won't let me post them...but i am posting this one.....
my man driving our yacht. he never reads the blog unless i tell him to....so he will never know that i shared his gorgeousity with you all. teehee. our secret, k?
He needs a cutlass!
ReplyDeleteRussell - he thought you were pretty awesome before but he said to tell you that you rock buddy - bahahahah!
DeleteOh My God Sis - Bahahahah!!! I Love the Yacht ! I mean I totally Love the Yacht ! I'd jump in that sucker in a heartbeat for a trip to explore the vast beauty which surrounds you.
ReplyDeleteIt may not cross the Atlantic as I'd hoped ... Oh bahahahah !!!!
You had such a fantastic day - and the sky - oh what's to possibly say about that gorgeous Cape Breton Sky , except that the water looks equally as beautiful !
The lily pads, the beaver house, the bridge - what great pics ! You really captured the moment.
Now I can't email cause I need to stare at the pics all night ! Nah - I will later
I'm Happy for You and Captain J - who looks so content at the helm or is it the stern - oh whatever !
Love You Always Sweetie ... xoxoxoxo
it's a real doozy eh sis? no matter - we love it too! and you would definitely be in the middle of the boat with us exploring all of the rivers, estuaries, lakes and streams - you'd love it! and ya - it was such a gorgeous yachting day - today is another one - we are going down to the ocean and no worries - i'll take lots of pics for you and pretend that you are with us! love always to you, dearest sister!
DeleteHa ha, I am drooling! That's some gorgeous country, no finer way to see it than from your very own yacht!
ReplyDeletei was hoping that you'd like it Craig - bahahahahah! and it is really beautiful country here, buddy, you'd love it here.

Deletei definitely will rent him by the hour - bahahahahahha - oh poor jambaloney!!!

DeleteWildflower

DeleteWildflower
Love it, that's one cool looking yacht! Oh to have a river running through our property. Or at least next to it. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice picture of J by the way. We won't tell him, it can be our little secret.
oh 1st Man - we love it too! and ya, our property is 200ft of the riverfront - but there isn't a soul around so it's more like we own the entire river and it is huge! jambaloney has maybe seen 2 or 3 people on the river the whole time that we have been here!!!
Deletethanks for keeping the secret, buddy, i knew i could count on you - bahahahahaha!
I agree with Craig, beautiful country..love the boat but really like the outboard motor. Thanks for the great pictures.
ReplyDeletedear sweet one - that outboard motor has been kept in tip-top condition and it is olllllllld!!! but jambaloney fired it up and it worked right away. he's really good with motors and he says this one will last another 20yrs easily. and ya - the country here is really mighty beautiful!
DeleteAhoy Captain Jam and First Mate Kymber ! I don't care how much they paid you at other jobs, living somewhere like Cape Breton Island is something millionaires fantasize about.
ReplyDeleteKymber, you have long hair like me ! Daniel loves long hair !
ahoy to you, Second Mate Jane - bahahahah! and yes, we really do feel like millionaires - we have everything we need and the only thing we want is to enjoy all of the beauty - so millionaires indeed! oh i am glad that Daniel loves long hair, i haven't had mine cut in over 3 years...it's getting pretty scraggly on the ends but i just can't be bothered to make a hair appointment - it takes me away from the Manor - bahahahah!
DeleteSweet Kymber,
ReplyDeleteNow that is what I call prime transportation! I love your yacht, that would be something Bulldog Man and I would have.
Trolling the river sure gives you a fabulous perspective of how beautiful the water, land and sky looks. Those clouds, omg.....they remind me of cotton candy, so fluffy and white! Yes, I could eat them up too.
Kymber I can't believe how long your hair is, it's so beautiful as you are my dear :-). The pictures on your blog show you with short or shoulder length hair.
Jambaloney looks like he's in heaven directing the yacht on the river and you my dear look like your trying to capture everything you possibly can all at once. Great pictures, they make me feel like I'm right there with you.
Your Friend,
Sandy xoxoxo
sweet Sandy - i knew that you would like the yacht, and Bulldog Man, too - it's a pretty awesome little boat! and ya - the clouds remind me of cotton candy, too, and i want to eat them all up - bahahahah! ya my hair is pretty long, i started growing it out about 3 or so years ago, jambaloney wanted me to let it grow and i haven't cut it since i started growing it. i need a serious trim but can't be bothered - bahahah! jambaloney loves his canoe but he also loves a 12ft boat - that's what his grandad had at the family fishing camp and jambaloney drove that thing for 35+ yrs. so this little boat is right up his alley - he loves it - so do i! and Sandy, we'll get Helga and lotta joy to push over and make room for you and Jane - bahahahahah!
DeleteYou need to make Rob your cabin boy for that boat :)
ReplyDeletePP - yer brilliant - that's an awesome idea!!!
DeleteRoooooob, Rooooob, ROOOOOOOOOB - where are ya buddy?!?!?! i needs ya!!!!!!
Gorgeous!!
ReplyDeletethanks agirl - we love that little boat!
DeleteThe boat/yacht looks like a "he" to me, very phallic. I don't think there can ever be enough sky pictures! River pictures are very nice, too. Somehow, I did not think you had long hair...hmmm. And, exactly what is wrong with that picture of jambaloney? Silly man.
ReplyDeletePracticalP - ya, it's definitely a he. we call him "boatdura" because our camper van is named "vandura" and our truck is named "truckdura" - bahahahahah! i am glad that you like the sky and river pics. yep, my hair is actually in a ponytail in the the pic, when down it sits just above my waist. jambaloney doesn't like any pics of himself - he is silly. i love allllll pics of him!
DeleteWe have a little second hand electric boat in AZ, (We aren't allowed any other kind on the lake) and it doesn't look all that much, but I love it.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that hubby is watching his posture for the photo. :D Sit up straight, hold the stomach in. You have him well trained. :D
hey Joey - it doesn't matter if the boat is old, as long as you love it! i am glad that you love yours cuz we certainly love this one! jambaloney isn't posing - i have begged him to pose for pics but he just can't do it. he is actually kind of slunched in the pic due to driving the boat. teehee!
Deleteliving large! It is amazing what a little outboard will do..and old tires! hehe
ReplyDeleteegb - you and me both know it buddy!
DeleteLooks like you had a beautiful day for ...ahem...yachting. You silly goose :-)
ReplyDeletebahahahahahah! you know it Sue! we love...ahem...yachting!!!! bahahahahahahah!
DeleteIf the "yacht" was any bigger, it might run aground or need a drawbridge. It's just the perfect size for your needs. Enjoy the ability to travel farther without having to paddle the whole way!
ReplyDeleteMrs. S. - you nailed it! although someday i do want a 100-footer - bahahahahah! our little yacht is perfect for our needs and we were able to get down to the ocean in about 10 minutes when we went the other day. we would be paddling for 45 mins if we were in the canoe!!!!
DeleteThere is nothing like being on the water, Those old motors will run forever. If you run all the fuel out when you winter it and use fresh gas in the spring you should have no problems.
ReplyDeleteBTW you dress better than Jambaloney.....just saying.
Dear Duke - we love being out on the water! and yes - that motor is already over 30yrs old but it has been very-well taken care of and runs like a charm! thanks for the fuel tip - we'll be sure to empty the gas for overwintering and use fresh gas in the spring.
Deletebahahahahah! jambaloney is in his underwear and i am in a size 12 little girl's nightgown - but i'll take the compliment as i usually do dress better! thanks buddy! bahahahah!
Beautiful pics, and so wonderful that you got a yacht.....didn't I say in one of my posts that you are just like Barbie and have everything!?!?.....such a lucky girl, but there is no better person to have it all than you:)
ReplyDeleteMM - i really do have everything! yacht, pool, hot tub, 30+yr old camper van, crap-ass cottage - heck what more could i want?!?!?!? bahahahahahahha!
Deleteoh i know - 10 gorgeous kids that always seem to have the biggest smiles on their faces. wait a sec...well, maybe not 10...maybe only 4....ya...maybe 4 - bahahahahahah!
Thank you for taking us on a lovely boat ride!
ReplyDeleteDonna, dear...you are very welcome. look forward to more yachting adventures. (heck did you just call our yacht a boat???? bahahahahahahah!)
DeleteBeauty! We have a similar yacht. Although, I was really expecting to see a pontoon boat when you mentioned the yacht, lol.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uI7Ghu1FpnQ ;)
Love!!! How wonderful that you have such a worthy ocean cruiser. I am a tad jealous of your little hidden haven and love that I got a peek of your gorgemous sweetie.
ReplyDeleteTake care my friend.
xoxoxoxox
