and he's off....

my beautiful man, my life, my heart and my soul....just left. he'll be back on tuesday evening.

he's gone back home to ottawa...that's where he was born and bred. a couple of side-trips to england and various provinces in canada...but ottawa is his home. that's where all of his family are.

he goes back once a year for an annual general meeting at a fishing camp that belonged to his grandfather. this year he wrote up a report about the fish in the various lakes. he knows everything about his grandfather's fishing camp...which actually now belongs to his mother.

he loves that lake....how appropriate that it is named "Heart Lake". we visited that lake twice when we lived in ottawa - we have such good memories of our time on the lake.

he will visit up with some old work buddies that he loves this evening, visit his dad tomorrow and then head out to the lake. he will probably do some fishing with his stepdad Ted and his mom. then he will attend the annual general meeting. and then more time fishing with his mom and stepdad and probably his sister too. his brother is the one picking him up at the airport.

then finally on tuesday he will get back on a plane and fly home.

i hope that he has a wonderful time!

he's only been gone for 30 minutes but i miss him like crazy!

  8. Oh geez louise Kymber! I am with PP. Senior was gone one year 354 days out of 365. In Navy wife life a week is a drop in the bucket.
If I could I would come up and spend the week with you, and we could do our own fishing. and have our own gurlie bonding time...

    1. listen Gurlie - i have always expressed my admiration for military wives but i was never one of them and never could have been! when he leaves me to go to the bathroom i cry! i hate not hearing him bang around in the basement, crash into stuff in the kitchen and i really hate not hearing him breathe in the middle of the night! i turn into a baby when he is gone and i have no trouble admitting it! he is my heart and soul and it is hard to live without your hear and soul.

Gurlie - find a cheap last-minute flight and get your butt up here! oh and you better be able to drive that canoe if we are going fishing - i don't paddle - bahahahahhah!

i loves you too! you know it!

      Delete
    2. I don't think you want me to drive the canoe. Senior can testify to my boating skills...lol

who is going to get up at 4am and yell at the ravens????

I know he is your heart.. he will be home soon.

    3. oh dear gawd - i thought you knew how to paddle?!?!?!? okay the canoe is out - but i can get our 22yr old neighbour next door to fix our other boat's motor - but he's gonna need $20 bucks and some beer - hang on let me call a few friends. now get yer butt up here. i mean it gurlie. the whole friendship is hanging on this! xoxox

  9. It's hard to be apart but I think it's good for your relationship too. My wife has been up North visiting our kids and I miss her, but I know she is having a good time. It also keeps me from taking her for granted. Not that there's any danger of either of you two taking the other for granted, that's clear.

    1. oh Harry - i hate him being gone...but i know that he gets to meet up with his family, take part in the annual general meeting which is really important to him, and see his hometown. so i am happy for him...but man it sucks trying to find things to do while he is away!

i am glad that your wife is up visiting the kids...she's probably really enjoying herself but missing you too!

  10. You guys know what?? Ms. Kymber is all talk and no action. There is no way she can kick all of our asses at one time. LOL She reminds be of the big bad wolf and the 3 little pigs. She will huff and puff and try to blow your house down....

Sorry kymber you know we all love you. oxoxox.

    ReplyDelete
  11. kymber - Yeah - you'd need some pretty mean boots to kick all of us :)

Keep busy - it'll help the time pass. Go on now - go dust your fairies and (empty) cuckoo clocks in your greenhouse.

And anticipation of the "greeting" when he returns will keep you warm...

  12. My great grandparents ran a fishing camp up in Canada somewhere when they were in their early 30's. Every once in awhile I love to look through those old pictures and see the strings of fish all of which are over two feet long! If it was still in the family, I would fly up to see it every year in a heartbeat. I hope Jam has the time of his life!

  15. kymber, I got a project for you. I remember you posting your future "Hot Tub" if you can, find one of those Homedics Bubble spas. Powered up the little motor inflates the mat and it bubbles a lot more than most jacuzzis. I got mine at a local thrift store for $7.00
