a migraine and a blog award (edited)

i've got a monster migraine. for the past 2 days. it doesn't look like it is going anywhere soon.

i also got a blog award. from Lila. she wrote the sweetest post here. please be sure to read it. i think she speaks for a lot of us. and some of the people she names in that post are some of the nicest and bestest on the internet.

here is the award:

Below are the rules of the award:

1. Copy and paste the award on your blog.
2. Link back to the blogger who gave you the award
3. Pick our five favorite blogs with less than 200 followers, and leave a comment on their blog to let them know they have received the award.
4. Hope that the five blogs chosen will keep spreading the love and pass it on to five more blogs.

so here are my five blogs. a lot of the blogs that i would have chosen have already been chosen. so i am trying to find 5 blogs that haven't been chosen yet. and i hope that you check out each of them.

#1. my dear friend Jennifer at the Double Nickel Farm. a better friend could never be found. and she is wise. so very wise. and warm. and she is as smart as a whip. she has been there for me through thick and thin. and she is funny. and creative. and she has taught me so much.

#2. my new friend, Practical Parsimony/Linda. she has a great blog with many frugal tips and many funny stories. she has been ill recently, but has since healed up and i am very thankful for that. say a prayer or two for her, will you?

#3. Wendy. my heroe. she is homeschooling up in northern ontario and can dress a road-kill bear. i am trying to think of something that she can't do and i am coming up blank. she is so smart and awesome.

#4. Donna. her husband is a brave veteran and he and her family have suffered much due to his, and her, bravery. her family means the world to her. she is one of the sweetest people i have encountered on the net.

#5. Sue. my sweet friend Sue. she has been through much over the past year or so. but always maintains a positive attitude. and doesn't know how to eat stuffed peppers. she has always supported my every crazy endeavour.

and i am going to throw in a number 6, 7 and 8. it has been hard to only pick out 5, check my blogroll listed on the right. i would list every single blog there. but some have already been acknowledged by others. so i will leave off with these 3 others.

#6. JaneofVirginia. wow. what an amazing woman. if you are a prepper/survivalist then her blog is a must read. she has so much knowledge and experience it is mind blowing! i especially love this post of hers!

#7. my dear friend Felinae. she was the very first person that i ever told about Framboise Manor when we were first considering purchasing it. she, of course, supported us. and along with Fel, is her husband. the Catman is back. he was on hiatus for a while but he is back with a vengeance. i am really glad. no one puts out the kind of information that he does. patriots awaken!

#8. speaking of patriots, how can you use that word and not put Craig in the same sentence. oh can he rant. formerly known as Mayberry and is still ranting on. but he has a new purpose - PATCOM. all of my American friends should learn about PATCOM.

as i already said, i would nominate every person listed in our blogroll. but i am glad that some of them have already been nominated. i tried to nominate a variety of different bloggers. all of whom i call friends.

i truly hope that you will check them all out. just tell them that kymber sent you.

thank you very much for the nomination, Lila, i really appreciate it!

(edited to say thank you to my friend Rob. i call him buddy. anyone from the east coast of canada will know why. it turns out that he nominated me for a blog award too. holy crap...i need to stop cutting onions!)

(edited again to say thank you to my friend Matt. he also nominated us for this award. i call him buddy, too. you east coasters will understand. sheesh - there be a lot of nice people on the internets. thanks Matt, buddy.)

(oh crap - my friend Shepherd awarded us too. what can i say about Shepherd except that he had the good sense to marry The Queen. no really - he actually married The Queen! and is fostering a baby who needs good parents and he and The Queen are providing that. i love them for doing that.)

(and my old canning partner SciFiChick nominated us for a completely different award. she has been around since the very beginning for us. she's the one who told me not to be afraid of canning. her and her Mars have had a very similiar year to ours - they are out on their own land and not afraid of nothin'! i love my Sci!)

  2. brother - i know that you know. and i so very much appreciate the offer. i would do the same for you in return. just sitting here squinting at the internets, probably the stupidest thing i could be doing with a migraine, but as i squint and try to read my favourite blogs, it somehow feels less awful. i know that you understand what i mean. thanks brother.

  15. Wow! Kymber you said a mouthful, and for a girl dealing with a migrain too. I guess that just shows what you are made of!

I didn't understand when you left a message at my blog to tell me yours had won an award and you had nominated mine. This award is SPECIAL!

Like I said, I didn't understand the weight and magnitude and amount of caring being nominated held.

I had dropped out of blogland for a few months, both reading and posting, for some personal stuff I had to sort through, and I came back to this!

Thank you so much. I've held it together while reading your post and all the comments from your wonderful followers and now ... I've got some onion cuttin' of my own to do.

  16. Sue - oh man, those dang onions get me all the time! i am sooo glad that you came over and saw yours and my special award - these things are serious. and they really let you know that you are very important.

you are so very welcome. i am sooo glad that you are back to blogging. we have missed you. and so has blogland. and we are all very proud that you can tie your own shoes again.

always much love to you, my friend. always...and xox

  18. Hmmm, I thought I had responded. Guess not! Thanks, kymber. I will get it right up. Also, when I had migraines, it was from an excessive amount of cheese. I just won't tell you how much cheese.

    1. PracticalP - oh don't say cheese. i looooove cheese. rats!

  19. I forgot to come here and thank you for the blog award. I thanked you on my blog instead...Oops.

I have found that my migraines are usually hormonal. Not sure if you take anything for yours, but sometimes Pamprin works on mine, works on Catman's too, better than Tylenol.

    1. not a prob, Fel, honey...i stopped in at your blog and enjoyed your nominations too. ya the migraines are very hormonal and also kick in when the barometric pressure changes too quickly.

i have "horse" pills from the doctor but i hate taking them. each pill can knock down 5 horses but all they do for me is make me very groggy and unable to sleep.

another good thing that Pamprin is for (i learned this in the military) - if a guy has a hangover give him a Pamprin. hangover goes away immediately. i swear.

love and hugs back you you, dear friend!
