it's 4:30 in the morn...have you made it to bed yet?

poor jambaloney has finally gone to bed. and has a post about our sagging floors and basement coming tomorrow. he'll probably sleep until noon or at least i hope so. he's as wiped out as i am! it's been a long, difficult several days of me being knocked out with the migraine and him having to run the household - and everything else that he has to take care of in a day.

today was the first day that my vision wasn't blurry, and although it was rainy, foggy and grey, it was still a little too bright. but i almost felt human. and we had the Fourchu Spaghetti and Meatball Supper to attend. we offered to help out at it several weeks ago and talked to our friend B this afternoon - but no, everything was kosher and they did not need our help. so we arrived at the supper, only to show our support for our neighbouring community. after the past several days both of us feel like we have been dragged behind Duke's truck as he is teaching the finer points of moving targets and such. we arrive at the supper right on time, expecting to sit, eat, and see some of our friends - at 4pm. and of course asked "is there anything we can do to help?". oh yes. start serving the people who are already seated. i swear that the Fourchu Community Centre has the brightest, fluorescent bulbs known to man. so we just kind of looked at each other, shrugged, started serving, found the salt and pepper shakers and tried to make sure that everyone had a good time. after the 4pm rush (16 guests maybe? we have a rain warning in effect and didn't expect too many to show), we were told to go and sit and eat our meals. i think that we are both so tired and because the adrenaline had to kick in to even show up, that we couldn't really relax.

that's probably because both of us knew that we had to attend the Framboise Community Centre Valentine's Dance at 9pm. but, we were able to see our Fourchu friends, a lot of whom wouldn't be attending the dance, and after helping clean up the Fourchu Hall, came home exhausted. jambaloney suggested a nap but i knew that if we napped - we would never make it to the dance. so we sat around chatting about the cold snap that is coming on monday, made our grocery list (we are now down to doing groceries once every 2-3 weeks!), talked about our spring garden and this year's harvest and watched the clock until it was time to get ready to go to the dance.

we had already forewarned a lot of people that we probably wouldn't stay long at the dance. most people already knew that i had just come out of a migraine due to my cancelling the scentsy party. so we showed up in the spilling rain, made our rounds, sat with our friends and left after about an hour or so. the people here are very understanding, and knew that i was feeling pretty crappy - we normally stay at the dances until they kick us out and we usually dance to almost every song. no dancing tonight. everyone understood.

we got home at about 11ish. drained. tired. but happy to have seen our friends - some of whom we haven't seen since the New Year's Party. but both of us were too wound from the past few days and today. it seems it doesn't matter how exhausted you are if the adrenaline kicks in to over drive. so we chatted some more and then watched a few Gordon Ramsay Kitchen Nightmare shows on Netflix. did i tell you that we got Netflix? we got it a few weeks ago and we love being able to watch movies and certain tv shows when we are in the mood. tonight was definitely one of those nights.

so the love of my life, my soul mate is finally in bed. please pray that he will stay down until noon. he has had a very tiring week. and he rocked at the supper tonight. i am so proud of him whenever we attend these events. makes my heart swell, he does!

sorry i haven't stopped in to your blogs for several days. i promise to catch up.

  1. its been a rough week here in the Bunker with everyone being sick. It just drains your life force out. Yes, I have been to bed for a bit and now up again. I do see a nap in the cards. Have you tried wearing sun glasses to help with the light?? Who knows you could start a new trend in N.S. lol Take care.

    1. Rob, buddy - sorry to hear about everyone being sick. i sure hope that you are all feeling better now. as for the light, i just close all the blinds and don't turn any lights on in the house. sunglasses might help, tho - thanks for that! we are in a bit of a cold spell here too. but so far the winter has been mild so i don't mind a few days of cold.

  8. Oh, I hope you get better soon. Take a nap. I know it took me four weeks to feel human after my illness. A nap is a good thing. I should indulge more often.

It sounds busy/hectic etc. I am so sorry you were down for the count with a migraine, and that the house has issues, but I am ever so happy you have your sweetie. You can handle anything because you are together!!

I am catching up myself on the blogity circuit, so no stresses here.
