fishing in the mist

jambaloney here!!

here is a nice pic of the back of the manor i shot the other afternoon.. well it's nice enough, clouds and all, but there is some junk, the atv and a bit of vandura in it ;-)

here is the yesterday morning - amazing!! there was a real heavy fog and a perfect morning for fishing... it was 7:00 AM when i snapped this pic, the sun had been up for 2 hours already!

the dew hung heavy - look at all the spider webs!!!

here is a close-up - the work that goes into something like this astounds me...

now i am at the water's edge...those ripples are trout feeding - YUM!!! i mean, yum for us ;-)) i caught 3 nice ones for breakfast...

quite a sight this, very surreal, like in one of those fantasy movies in a mystical land!!

kymber thought i had gotten a picture of the moon and it's reflection, but that is the sun  and if it weren't for the fog, the light would be blinding!!!

for a while, the fog actually got a little thicker...

making it all the more like a dream...if you look closely in the middle of this pic, you can see the loons, they are out fishing every morning i am... they seem to be used to me by now, a good thing about a canoe is how quiet you can be on the water... i don't really disturb the wildlife..

here we are, further on our travels...

around the bend  - it is magic still!!!

rewind two weeks ago... here is the back yard, the day before...

and here is the next morning at 5:30...it dropped to just above freezing the night before..

so while there is no fog, there is a mist on the water and awesome clouds!!

the mist is less like yesterday's dream land and more like an early morning in the life of a trapper

the loons were out that morning... on cold mornings the mist rises from the water, the fog we had yesterday descends.. totally different, yet equally amazing!

that is the mouth of stacchens brook as it empties into the framboise river... those ripples are american shad going upstream to spawn, i spent 1/2 hour with the fly rod trying to catch one...no dice, i did get a few trout later. the shad are gone now, they are in the river for maybe two weeks at most.. apparently the trout gorge themselves on the eggs, i will have to admit, the past week or two the trout have been nibbling more than biting... i have to set the hook just right... i will be glad when things are back to normal and the "free lunch buffet" of shad roe is gone and the trout are hungry again... LOL!

7:00 AM and time to go home, as usual, the breathtaking view never fails to disappoint!!!

hope you all enjoyed another couple of trips into the wilds, i guess these posts are my version of kymber's sky pics...it is our blog after all ;-)))

cheers everyone!

WOW....WOW....WOW... Those are beautiful pictures of the sky, water, mist, sun,and property. Some of those pictures you could make larger and sell. With the sun behind the mist and the canoe. It's just a thought!!!

  11. MMMMMM Trout fishing especially where they live naturally is the best fishing. Being able to trout fish with no one else around and an unlimited body of water just makes it that much better. When I get to go trout fishing I am either always near others or limited to stream typically only ten yards or narrower across.
